ZnetShows New Arrivals Blog Hop

Who doesn't love something new? The New Arrivals Section of the ZnetShows.com website is stocked full of beautiful new components. We decided to give our designers the opportunity to work with a few of the newest cultured sea glass pieces. As mentioned in the blog hop announcement post, they were able to work with three of these new arrivals: Stack Sets, Button Clothing, and Focal Sets and blog about what they made.

Announcement for New Arrival Blog Hop

Mark your calendars! This Saturday, August 20th, several of our designers will reveal their designs with some of our new arrivals.

The bead styles they will be showcasing include the new Stack Set beads (PMX11).

These cultured sea glass beads are currently available in nine shades and come in bags of 12 pieces. They are cultured sea glass nugget beads that stack perfectly together in a graduated pattern.

As well, these Button Clothing pieces (PMX12) are also new to ZnetShows.com.

They also come in 12-piece bags and are available in ten different colors. The nugget beads have two holes drilled in them, perfect for use as buttons on clothing on in other designs.

Lastly, some of the designers will be working with the new Focal Sets (PMX13).

These are large-hole nugget beads that include a top-drilled 'focal' bead in the ten bead bag. There are eight colors to choose from in this section.

Whoops Blog Hop Uses Our 16mm Glass Pearls

When Cynthia of Antiquity Travelers picked out some of our gray 16mm glass pearls for her upcycled designs for Creative Spark Fall 2014, she didn't realize just how large that was. WHOOPS!

While she rolled with it for the issue, she also knew she had just too many of these wonderfully large beads for her own personal use. Instead of just hoarding them away, Cynthia offered up a sample of the pearls to some of her beady friends to see what they could create with them. Here's a list of the participants who took her up on the offer.

Creative Spark Summer 2014 Reveal and Blog Hop

I hope your Fourth of July festivities were a blast!! Now for another reason to celebrate. . .the reveal of Creative Spark Summer 2014!!

For this issue, we decided to focus on our cultured sea glass. The participating design team members were asked to select two colors from the many shades available. In addition to those colors, they received sea glass beads and pendants in surprise hues. The task was to create designs appropriate for Summer Days (casual) and designs for Summer Night (dressy) with the cultured sea glass. Are you ready to see what they came up with? Here you go!

 

Since we included so many designers in this issue of Creative Spark, we kept their pictures and descriptions to a minimum in order to fit everyone in the pages and give you as much eye candy as possible. I know everyone's gearing up for the big Independence Day festivities this weekend, but another reason to celebrate can be added to your list. Creative Spark Summer 2014 will be revealed on Saturday, July 5th.

Not only will you get to view the online magazine, but our design team members will have a more in-depth look at the cultured sea glass designs they created for the publication in a blog hop right here on the ZnetShows blog. Get ready to party, sea glass bead style!

ZnetShows Designers Participate in 8th Annual Bead Soup Blog Party

Due to some unfortunate and untimely health issues of the amazing hostess of The Bead Soup Blog Party (BSBP), the reveal was postponed for a week. However, the wait is over and today's the party! This blog party has jewelry designers paired up with one another to swap a 'bead soup'. Each bead soup must contain a focal, a clasp, and a few coordinating beads. The designers must then use the focal and clasp in one or more designs (the coordinating beads are optional) and then reveal those designs on party day.

Many of our own ZnetShows designers were discovered via the BSBP, and there are still quite a few of them participating in the event. Please see the complete list of participants on the Bead Soup Blog Party Blog. However, if you just want a taste of the event to start with, might I suggest visiting some of the blogs of our designers who are participating this year.

Better Late than Never: Keychain Clasp Reveal

At the end of October, we revealed what a handful of our designers made with our Keychain clasps and their selection of some of our Chinese Crystal Beads. It was our "Keychain Clasp Lightening Round". Because of forces outside her control, Andra wasn't able to reveal her design at that time. However, things have fallen more into place and she revealed her design last week.

Keychain Clasp Lightening Round

Several weeks back we let interested members of the ZnetShows Design Team take part in a Lightening Design Challenge. Our lightening rounds are quick-fire challenges in which the designers are asked to create something within a short period of time after receiving their package. This time around, we asked them to design with a few of our KeyChain Clasps.

In addition, each designer picked out a couple of Chinese crystal beads to also work into their designs.

These Designers came up with some really beautiful creations and unique uses for the keychain clasps. Clicking on their names will take you to their blog posts.

Artisan Whimsy's 5x5 Test Group

Online bead community, Artisan Whimsy, hosts a 5x5 challenge each month. This challenge pairs up jewelry component suppliers and jewelry artists by giving five artists five supplies from that supplier. ZnetShows.com had the opportunity to be that supplier for July. Bill decided that it was possible for us to supply more than five sets and surprised the community by offering up samples of our sea glass to willing Artisan Whimsy members.
